    Interesting facts about the Huxley Building

    • The Huxley building, constructed between 1867 and 1871, was originally intended for the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
    • Architect Henry Scott oversaw the final design of the building, while the contributions of Henry Cole, Richard Redgrave, and Francis Fowke added layers of influence. The upper arcaded gallery of the building with ‘Cole’ columns and the motto ‘Regem Serva Deum Cole’ embodied the collaborative design efforts of the Huxley Building.

    How to find the Huxley Building

    Located at 180 Queen’s Gate, the Huxley Building main entrance can be reached from Queen’s Gate Road. The building is also accessible via Prince Consort Road through the Sherfield Building.
