Rated in the top five of Time Out’s best cities of 2024, London will be buzzing with live events, festivals and special attractions in just a few short months. With so much to see and do, we’ve pulled together a list of some of our favourite events taking place this summer.
July
- Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships
1 – 14 July
Get your strawberries and cream ready for one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments that take place around the world. The atmosphere in London comes alive during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with events taking place at public parks, restaurants and pubs across the city. Wimbledon is only a short ride away from South Kensington Underground (tube) station which is within walking distance of Prince’s Gardens. - Buckingham Palace summer opening
11 July – 29 September
Discover the inside of Buckingham Palace and see how royalty live during the Palace’s summer opening. Open for 10 weeks only, this is one of London’s top attractions and is well worth a visit. - Formula E World Championship
20 – 21 July
Don’t miss the finale of the Formula E World Championships at ExCel London. This all-electric racing event will see the 2024 champions crowned. - BBC Proms
19 July – 14 September
Listen to some of the best orchestras and musicians in the world at London’s top music event, the BBC Proms. This event takes place at the beautiful Royal Albert Hall, a short walk from our summer accommodation at Prince’s Garden. - BST Hyde Park
5 – 14 July
See Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams or Shania Twain at BST Hyde Park. Enjoy headliners, great entertainment and delicious food and drinks in London’s premier green space, Hyde Park. - The Hundred
Any sporting fans among us? The Hundred at the Kia Oval invites top cricket players to participate in a new format of the game launched in 2021. The exciting atmosphere delivers music, lights and cheers and is not to be missed.

- August Bank Holiday Weekend
24 – 26 August
If you’re visiting in the peak of summer, don’t miss the various events taking place across the city on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Londoners delight in an extra lie in, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better vibe anywhere else! - Notting Hill Carnival
25 – 26 August
You’re invited to the BEST street festival in London. Join the streets of Notting Hill to celebrate Caribbean heritage, arts and culture. - Park Nights at the Serpentine

14 – 22 September
Explore the very best of design at the London Design Festival. Home to many architectural gems and artistic delights, this festival brings talent together to celebrate and showcase the very best in design and the arts.
- London Fashion Week
13 – 17 September
Dress to impress at London Fashion Week. Preview the latest fashion trends for Spring and Summer 2025 and do it in one of the fashion capitals of the world. - Great River Race
21 September
A marathon on the River Thames. This spectacular race takes place over 21.6 miles from Millwall in the East to Richmond in the West. Anyone can take part, from professional athletes to friends and families. It’s a fun day out for competitors and spectators.
